Over 1.5 tonnes of turmeric busted in Dematagoda

1559kg of Turmeric, illegally imported into the country, was discovered by the Police STF during a raid carried out last night (16) in the Dematagoda area.
Police Media Spokesperson DIG Ajith Rohana noted that 2 suspects were arrested while a lorry was also takern into custody. The suspects have been identified as residents of Kandy and Wattala.
Further investigations are being carried out by the Dematagoda police along with the Police STF.
