Education Ministry to create guidelines to reopen WP schools

Minister of Education Professor G.L. Peiris states that health guidelines regarding the opening of schools in the Western Province for all grades will be prepared within two weeks. He stated this during a media briefing held today (18).
He further stated that a meeting will be held with health authorities on 20th January and that many schools within the Western province have the potential of being opened if they are not situated in an isolated area or in a high-risk area.
Accordingly, a comprehensive plan for the recommencement of operations in schools will be outlined at the meeting.
