An open verdict was returned at the post-mortem into the death of the youth who fell from the 10th floor of Durdans Hospital, Kollupitiya. Therefore, Kollupitiya Police will need to submit their findings to Court, as the death is suspicious.
Recording evidence on the case would be taken up on 10 March. Police said, the victim (31) was the son of a famous businessman in the country. The incident had taken place around 3:00 a.m. on Thursday and the body of the youth was found on the fifth floor of the Hospital.
Several parties were levelling allegations against the Hospital management over its lackadaisical approach and failure to prevent the death of the youth who was allegedly receiving treatment for a psycho-social disability.
