Final decision on ECT yet to be made : Keheliya

Cabinet Spokesperson and Minister of Mass Media Keheliya Rambukwella states that a final decision has not been reached about the Eastern Container Terminal of the Colombo Port and that the Government is pursuing a flexible policy.
He stated this at the Cabinet press briefing held at the Government Information Department today (26).
"There are discussions going on in this regard.. However, the Cabinet has not taken a decision yet. The issue has not even been brought up in Parliament. Moreover, only 49% is invested in the stock market, 51% will always be kept with the Government." he stated.
He said that all this was not the final decision and that further discussions are being held in this regard and a flexible policy has been adopted due to changes the discussions and decisions would bring.
The Minister added that the Government has a sense of geopolitics and will take a decision taking all these factors into consideration.
