No decision on milk powder, flour and gas price revision
A decision on the prices of milk powder, wheat flour, cement and domestic gas cylinders was not reached at the Cabinet meeting held last evening (27).
Speaking at the online briefing, Finance Minister Basil Rajapaksa said that there would be no issues for importers as the rupee would stabilize in the future.
Meanwhile, the Cabinet approved the importation of 100,000 metric tons of rice to prevent any ‘artificial shortage’ of rice in the market.
Further, the Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) has been directed to cancel the Gazette notification issued on the maximum wholesale and retail price of rice.
