There will be no Budget for this year and it is likely to be a Vote on Account for the rest of the year, said former MP Basil Rajapaksa yesterday (8).
A new Budget will be presented for 2021 in November, he added. He said this at a Sri Lanka Freedom People’s Alliance Media briefing. He added that Sri Lanka has been able to increase its exports in June up to USD 950 million.
“One of our biggest challenges after combatting the COVID-19 crisis is preventing any sort of economic crisis. We have been able to increase our exports up to USD 950 million in June. This is a big win because in April our exports went down to USD 250 million, due to COVID-19.”
