NMCRP slams CCA officer
The National Movement for Consumer Rights Protection (NMCRP) claimed that the legal officer of the Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) should take the responsibility for the confusion created by her over the publication of a Gazette Notification announcing a controlled price for coconut and therefore should tender her resignation immediately.
The NMCRP alleged that the legal officer had not shown any inclination to attend to her duties and that she was only interested in travelling overseas while serving in her capacity.
They added that attempting to stipulate a controlled price for coconuts based on circumference is nothing but a laughable move that has come to be ridiculed by the public.
Far more competent individuals should be appointed to carry out the functions of her office on behalf of consumers, the NMCRP urged.
