Business Nepal - SL discuss tourism promotion

Chief‌ ‌Executive‌ ‌Officer‌ ‌(CEO) of‌ ‌Nepal‌ ‌Tourism‌ ‌Board‌ ‌(NTB)‌ ‌Dr.‌ ‌Dhananjaya‌ ‌Regmi‌ ‌met with the‌ ‌Ambassador‌ ‌of‌ ‌Sri‌ ‌Lanka‌ ‌to‌ ‌Nepal‌, ‌‌Himalee‌ ‌Subhashini‌ ‌Arunatilika‌, in Kathmandu, Nepal, in order to discuss tourism promotion between the two countries.

Nepal has many holy pilgrimage sites for both, Sri Lankan Hindus and Buddhists, one of the main sites being the birthplace of Lord Buddha, Dr. Regmi noted during the meeting.

He further noted that the ‌Gautam‌ ‌Buddha‌ ‌International‌ ‌Airport‌, which is under‌ ‌construction‌ ‌in‌ ‌Lumbini‌, is scheduled to ‌operate‌ ‌this‌ ‌year, thereby adding to the list of attractions for Sri Lankan tourists.

He also added that Nepal is ready to offer special pilgrimage packages for Sri Lankan tourists. 

Arunatilika‌ also went on to assure that Sri Lanka is always ready to cooperate with Nepal in this regard, given that the current religious‌ ‌and‌ ‌cultural‌ ‌relations‌ between the two counties are favourable.   ‌
