The Navy, patrolling off south of Mannar, detected and released eight sea turtles, having found them entangled in a fishing net on Saturday ( 28).
Observing a bale of sea turtles trapped in a fishing net, south of Mannar sea area, the North-Central Naval Command released them.
The Navy is constantly contributing to the conservation of these endangered sea turtles and the conservation of the biodiversity of the marine ecosystem, the Navy said.
