National Team gets a ‘Lead Physiotherapist’
Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) appointed Brett Harrop as the Lead Physiotherapist of the National Team. His appointment for a two-year period came into effect from 21 May 2021. Before joining SLC, Brett has been working as the Sports Physiotherapist for New Zealand Cricket. He has also worked as the High-Performance Rehabilitation Manager of the Bangladesh Cricket Board.
Brett, a former Australian First-Class Cricketer, has worked as the Head Physiotherapist of the Kings XI Punjab, a franchise of the Indian Premier League, and held the same position at the Lahore Qalandars of the Pakistan Super League. He has obtained a Master of Exercise Science from the Edith Cowan University of Australia and a Master of Sports Physiotherapy from the University of Melbourne, Australia, among many of his qualifications. He has already arrived in Sri Lanka and is undergoing the mandatory quarantine period before joining the National team for the tour of England, which will be his first assignment. Meanwhile, SLC also confirmed the appointment of Hashan Thilakarathne as women’s team coach.
