National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children established to track child pornography
A special unit, named the National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children, was established yesterday (27), to monitor activities related to child porn.
The unit has been established as a part of the Police Children and Women’s Bureau, Police Media Spokesman SDIG Ajith Rohana stated.
He added that constant operations are underway to track down persons who upload content related to child pornography.
Reportedly, 17,629 pictures and videos of this nature have been uploaded and shared across the Internet from 17 June to 28 July.
The SDIG noted that strict action will be taken against persons responsible for such activities, and those who share and forward such content.
