Sports Nalanda thrash S. Thomas by massive 234 runs

A fine all-round performance by Nalanda Colombo skipper Raveen de Silva enabled his school to thrash S. Thomas’ Mt. Lavinia by a massive 234 runs in a first-round fixture of the Under-19 Inter Schools Limited Overs Cricket tournament yesterday.

First, the right hander scored an unbeaten 170 runs in 136 balls with 14 boundaries and 8 sixes, and then with his right arm leg-breaks took 4 wickets for 4 runs. 

Mahanama Colombo, St. Peter’s Bambalapitiya and Isipathana maintained their unbeaten records as they registered their 4th win this season, while Diniru Abeywickramasinghe (St. Servatius Matara - 138) and Malith Lakshan (St. Sylvester’s Kandy - 105) scored centuries.
