MCSA condemns murder of local in Pakistan
The Muslim Civil Society Alliance (MCSA) - All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulama (ACJU), Muslim Council of Sri Lanka (MCSL), National Shoora Council (NSC) and Young Men’s Muslim Association (YMMA) while expressing their sympathies to relatives of the Sri Lankan expatriate worker, Priyantha Diyawadane, who was murdered in Pakistan, condemned the massacre and urged the Pakistani Government to bring the culprits before the law.
The MCSA in a statement said they were shocked when they heard of the tragic incident and added that they appreciated the swift action taken by Pakistan Prime Minister, Imran Khan in this regard.
The statement added that since Pakistan was a friendly nation, tragic incidents of this nature should not recur, as it would damage the goodwill between the two countries.
The statement added that the victim was serving as the General Manager of a factory of the Industrial Engineering Company, Rajco Industries Sialkot in Punjab, Pakistan.
This is an extremely shameful and barbaric crime and cannot be justified at any cost, the statement added.
The Pakistani Police was on a manhunt to arrest the culprits, while several have already been arrested. However the Pakistani Government’s move and Pakistani Premier Khan must be appreciated, the statement added.
