Make A Splash With Summer Love
By Shafiya Nawzer
On a hot day, there’s no better place to be than cooling off in the water. And, if you have a pool or you’re lucky enough to have access to one, you want to make sure you maximise your time in it with a comfortable pool float. The art of inflatables has really advanced in the last few years. Decorative pool floats have become quite the trend over the years, and it seems like they’re becoming more popular than ever. These days, you can’t go on social media without seeing someone lounging around on a giant unicorn float!
If you want to get in on the fun with an Instagram-worthy float, look no further than Summer Love, Sri Lanka! You’ll find the trendiest and coolest floats, from a rainbow cloud daybed to a pizza slice pool float.

Summer Love offers a manner of pool inflatables to choose from, including options for adults, kids and babies. These fun and colourful floats are the perfect way to spruce up your holiday!
We at Glamour spoke to Shehani about the brand and their latest fun photoshoot.
Q:Could you tell us about your brand, what you’ll offer and how it has evolved over the past few years?
Summer Love, as the name states are the love of all things summer! My main focal point has been the floaties, which are available to rent and purchase! I also carry a collection of beach hats and few summer essentials.
As for how Summer Love has grown over the years, it’s actually amazing to look back and think of how far I’ve come because I started with just one float! Yup, as crazy as that sounds, it was one float that I rented out until I was able to build a name and expand slowly into a bigger range. Right now I carry over 10 designs of floaties, fully stocked to cater to any immediate purchases! Really proud of where I have reached so far, as floaties of this nature were nonexistent before I started, and now when anyone spots afloat they immediately think of Summer Love, and I think that itself is a huge accomplishment!
Q:Unicorns, Flamingo’s and Angel floaties are signature Summer Love style. How did this vision come about and what was the inspiration?
Well, I wanted a brand that was in line with my personality. I’ve always wanted people to be able to enjoy these luxe floats that we see on TV and celebrity’s Instagram accounts without having to bust their wallets! That is why I came up with the rental packages for these floaties. The first picture I saw on Instagram that sparked my interest in pool floats was of Tracy Komlos from Pangea Dreams, and the craziest part is that a few years after I was established, they did a tour in Sri Lanka and I was able to collaborate with them!
Q:What is the best Summer Love seller and which one is your personal favourite?
The best-sellers are a tie between the unicorn and the rose gold flamingo! However, my personal favourite happens to be the gold swan!
Q:Could you tell us a bit about your latest photoshoot and the concept behind it?
I’ve always envisioned having a photoshoot with a colourful, energetic party vibe and that’s exactly what we went for! We drew inspiration from Pinterest and other sources and were able to execute a perfect shoot! We also had some small scenes to portray other aspects such as a bachelorette pool party and a river deck lifestyle shoot too.
Q:What does a Summer Love pool party look like?
A summer love pool party would look exactly like what we portrayed in our photoshoot! It would be a pool covered in floaties, crazy fun, colourful and of course music with lots of dancing!
Q:What top water safety tips or messages do you think are the most important for keeping kids safer in and around the water?
Well, the top safety tips in regards to floats and kids I would say are:
1. Always supervise children
2. Floats are NOT a life-saving device and shouldn’t be used as one
3. Do not jump onto and off floats as they may result in injury especially towards the edges of pools
Q:What’s in the works for the brand, and what can people expect next?
My ultimate vision is to expand summer love into a one-stop-shop for all things summer, so slowly and surely getting there and I’m excited for what the future holds because I’m always on the lookout to introduce novel items to customers through my store!
