The JVP claimed that youth aged between 20 and 30 years have shown a less interest in getting their coronavirus vaccines because they are waiting to receive the Pfizer BioNtech vaccine.

“Youth aged between 20 and 30 years have shown a less interest in getting the vaccines not because of mythical beliefs such as sexual dysfunction. They are waiting for the Pfizer vaccine,” former JVP MP Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa said.

He said the Government did not heed to recommendations and guidance of the experts in providing Pfizer vaccine and alleged that it was done solely on political agendas. “Administering the Pfizer vaccine was not done on the advice of the virology experts.

Who should receive the Pfizer vaccine was decided by the political authority not by the experts,” Dr. Jayatissa said. He expressed these views during a webinar organised by the National People’s Power (NPP).
