Mahara Prison unrest: Identities of deceased inmates not confirmed yet

It is reported that the post-mortem examinations of the 11 inmates who died in the Mahara Prison unrest cannot be conducted as their identities have not been confirmed so far.
The Director of the Ragama Hospital, Dr. Shelton Perera, said that the post-mortem examinations cannot conducted until the identities of the deceased are confirmed.
Eight out of the 11 deceased inmates have tested positive for COVID-19, the Hospital Director said, adding that two PCR test reports were to be issued and the COVID-19 status of the remaining inmate has not been confirmed so far.
