LTTE Diaspora vandalises SL High Commission in UK

Vandals suspected to be LTTE sympathisers had flown black balloons over the Sri Lankan High Commission in London yesterday morning, with the wordings ‘I’m Sri Lanka, I’m so genocide’ printed on them.
The balloons were seen on the flagpole that overhangs the road, as well as on the front door of the High Commission building.
Sri Lankan High Commissioner in London, Saroja Sirisena told Ceylon Today last night, “Three Individuals hung balloons containing anti-Sri Lankan slogans on the façade of the High Commission in London in the early hours of the morning (22/02/2021), before the High Commission was open for the day.”
She added, “This was captured on CCTV footage, which was provided to the law enforcement authorities in the UK.”
However, even by the time this edition went to print, no Police team had visited the venue to conduct investigations, claiming that they cannot investigate ‘individual incidents’.
The incident took place while Sri Lanka is preparing to face the Core Group’s resolution to be presented at the United Nations Human Rights Council session in Geneva, Switzerland.
