Kusal Mendis officially announces joining SSC
Sri Lanka’s top order batsman Kusal Mendis, who is currently facing a one-year suspension from International Cricket over misconduct, officially announced yesterday about his decision to leave Colombo Cricket Club (CCC) and join Sinhalese Sports Club (SSC). Mendis, along with Danushka Gunathilaka and Niroshan Dickwela, were suspended from international cricket for one year, following a breach of COVID protocol during the UK tour earlier this year.
“I consider CCC as my second home, and leave the club with full of pleasant memories. I would like to thank everyone at CCC for all the support over the years! ‘CHANGE’ is the word I strongly believe in these days and I have no doubt SSC will give me courage to rewrite my dreams,” Mendis posted on social media on Wednesday.
