Health Sector officials closed a theatre in the Jaffna City yesterday (13) for violating health guidelines recommended by the Health Ministry to curb the spread of COVID- 19.
The theatre is situated opposite the Teaching Hospital Jaffna. The Government has granted permission to cinema hall operators only permitting 50 per cent of the number of seats to be filled. However, in this instance tickets had been sold to fill the hall to full capacity, violating health sector instructions.
Health sector officials added that tickets had been sold directly to customers instead of selling them on-line as instructed.
