News Ja-Ela Bridge expansion

The Ja-Ela Bridge, on the Colombo-Negombo main road, is being widened at a cost of Rs 214 million.

The Road Development Authority will be in charge of the construction. The bridge will have a width of six meter on one side and 12 on both sides; expanding the existing structure to 26 meter, easing traffic congestion in Ja-Ela.

Minister of Highways Johnston Fernando inaugurated the project on 2 December in conjunction with the development of the Ja-Ela town in the Gampaha District.

State Minister for Rural Roads and Other Infrastructure Nimal Lanza, MP Nalin Fernando and many other political and Government representatives attended the event.
