Issues affecting rural development in Kandy District discussed at Rural Infrastructure Development Committee

The Rural Infrastructure Development Committee, chaired by Minister Chamal Rajapaksa, met at the Kandy District Secretariat under the National Program for the Upliftment of the Rural Economy yesterday (16).
It was discussed that the issues and challenges affecting the economic revival and rural economic development of the people of the Kandy District in relation to the 10 Cabinet and State Ministries of the Committee, as well as the solutions are still being identified as short and long term measures.
The committee also did a progressive review of the steps taken so far.
The Governor of the Central Province, State Miisters Siripala Gamlath, Anuradha Jayaratne, Jeewan Thondaman, Nimal Lansa, Nalaka Godahewa, MPs from the District, People's Representatives, Secretaries to Ministries and many other Government officials were also present at this occasion.
