Inter-District Travel Restrictions Soon?

Head of the National Operation Centre for the Prevention of Covid19, Army Commander General Shavendra Silva told Ceylon Today, travel restrictions between districts could be imposed in the future.
The Army Commander said the decision will be taken based on the instructions of the health sector and targeting areas where the spread of the virus is observed. He also said imposition of travel restrictions between provinces was enforced from midnight yesterday (11) until 30th of this month and it will not be a hindrance to maintaining essential services in the upcoming weeks.
General Silva also said the essential services which would be allowed to travel between provinces will be declared soon. He told Ceylon Today, it has been decided to implement in the upcoming few days, the previous system of the Identity Card numberbased method of leaving home for essential tasks, which was in practice earlier and that it will be announced in the near future.
