The Mahara Prison inmate who escaped from the Ragama Hospital last night (2) has been arrested in the Orugodawatta area.
The prisoner has been taken into custody by the prison intelligence unit, the Police stated.
The inmate in question had been admitted to the Ragama Hospital for treatment after sustaining injuries during the Mahara Prison unrest erupted on 29 November, the Director of the Ragama Hospital, Dr. Shelton Perera, said.
The inmate had previously been subjected to a PCR test, and the PCR test report is to be issued today (3).
