Indian Prime Minister launched one of the world’s largest coronavirus vaccination drives today (16), setting in motion a complex deployment plan aimed at stemming the widespread infection across a nation of more than 1.3 billion people.
PM Modi gave a speech addressing more than 3,000 centers across India where the first shots were to be given, where frontline workers were already queuing to both receive and administer the vaccines.
It was stated that over 10 million persons are to receive the vaccination in the first phase of the program.
