New Bangladeshi High Commissioner presents credentials

The newly appointed High Commissioner of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh to Sri Lanka Tareq Md. Ariful Islam presented his credentials to President Gotabaya Rajapaksa yesterday (11).
During the appointment, President Rajapaksa said that it is his intention to promote bilateral relations in identified areas with countries in the region including Bangladesh to the highest possible level.
Further, Ariful Islam invited President Rajapaksa to pay an official visit to Bangladesh as no Sri Lankan Head of State has visited the country since 2018
