Govt seems to be questioning Tamil culture – Kalaiarasan
By Naalir Jamaldeen
The Tamil National Alliance (TNA) Ampara District Parliamentarian Thavarasa Kalaiarasan claimed, the activities of Presidential Task Force to Protect Archeological Sites seem to be creating ethnic contradictions.
He made these observations after placing the foundation stone for the school for spiritual studies in Urani Pottuvil on 18 October.
Kalaiarasan lamented, the ethnic ratio of Tamils has declined in the Northern and Eastern Provinces.
“Each and every step being taken by the current Government seems to be questioning the culture of the Tamil community,” Kalaiarasan claimed.
He stated at a time when the said Presidential Task Force has intensified its activities in the Eastern Province, the Tamil People’s Federation consisting of Tamil political leaders had discussions in this connection and on ways and means of finding solutions for it.
He claimed, proceedings are underway to take over their lands of ancient times in Mullaitivu and the Northern Province and Pottuvil, Thirukkovil, Batticaloa and Trincomalee in the Eastern Province.
