Govt MPs’ special meeting to discuss Port City, COVID-19

A meeting of ruling party MPs is due to be held this afternoon under the leadership of Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa at Committee Hall number one of the Parliamentary Complex. It is reported that lengthy discussions will be held on actions taken up to now to control COVID-19 and on future procedures, advantages of the Colombo Port City Economic Commission to the country and the present political situation. It is further reported that the meeting will focus on progress made on programmes carried out by ministers and MPs to increase the capacity of beds in hospitals and intermediate treatment centres.
