Although the constituent parties of the Government met President Gotabaya Rajapaksa yesterday, nothing has been discussed about the LNG Power Plant in Kerawalapitiya. Leaders of the 11 parties urged the President to adopt a system that would allow the leaders to carry out their plans and ease the Administration’s flow, as the current system has hampered their operations in many ways.

After the meeting, Minister of Water Supply Vasudeva Nanayakkara told Ceylon Today that 11 parties met the President to discuss issues that they had been dealing with for a long time. He said they informed the President that the current system did not assist them in carrying out their activities.

He went on to say that another point they brought up was the need to revisit the decision to ban chemical fertilisers and their use on crops. “It should be noted that the decision was really good, but it is difficult to put into practice,” he said. While focusing on reducing and arresting drug dealers and traffickers, the parties have handed over a report on how to tackle the country’s drug problem.
