Gothatuwa residents to receive Sputnik V jab
Those between the ages of 30 to 60 years from the Gothatuwa area in the Colombo district will be vaccinated with the Russian Sputnik - V vaccine against COVID-19 from tomorrow (06)
This was confirmed by the State Minister of Production, Regulation and Supply of Pharmaceuticals, Prof. Channa Jayasumana.
Sri Lanka received the first consignment of 15,000 doses the Sputnik - V vaccine yesterday (04), whilst 500,000 more doses are due to arrive in the country within the month of May.
The National Medicine Regulatory Authority (NMRA) approved the emergency usage of the Russian vaccine in March earlier this year, after which a total of 13 million doses of the vaccine was purchased.
