The Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA) has set up a coordination centre to collect information from all hospitals, to curb the spread of COVID-19, as a surge in patients is anticipated in the coming two weeks. GMOA Secretary, Dr. Senal Fernando, told Ceylon Today that five hotlines have been given to all doctors and Medical Officers of Health to streamline the process. The information centre will gather data from all hospitals daily and the Secretary said a team of doctors have been deployed for this purpose. All information received will be referred to health authorities immediately and Dr. Fernando said the GMOA will focus attention on controlling the COVID19 spread.
