GCE (OL) 2020: Health contingency plans in place – Exams Chief

Contingency measures have been put in place for the GCE Ordinary Level Examination 2020 to be held from 1 to 10 March 2021, to meet any health emergencies that may arise.
In the event of an emergency during the examination, centres have been coordinated with hospitals in the area and ambulances have also been provided, Commissioner General of Examinations, Sanath Pujitha said.
In such an event, Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Director General of Health Services have requested that the Department of Examinations should be promptly informed, he said.
Principals and Deputy Principals of schools which are examination centres have been entrusted to coordinate with health authorities to disinfect the centres. A senior teacher or an additional person in charge has also been appointed to coordinate facilities and get in touch with the Medical Officer of Health and implement health protection guidelines. Provincial and Zonal Education Directors have been instructed to coordinate all activities, the Commissioner General said.
