The three-Judge Bench of the Colombo High Court on Monday deferred further hearing of the case filed against ex-Minister of Finance Ravi Karunanayake and a group of accused on charges of misappropriating a sum of Rs 15 billion during the CBSL Treasury Bonds auction held on 31 March, five years ago, to 25 October. The trial was convened before the Bench consisting of Judges Amal Ranaraja, Namal Balalle and Adithya Patabendige.

When the case was taken up the prosecution handed over the necessary trial documents to the defence lawyers and then sought a fresh date from the Bench to make submissions after perusing the documents. Accordingly, further trial proceedings were put off to the said date. Among others accused are primary dealer PTL Private Limited, ex-Governor of CBSL Arjuna Mahendran, Arjun Aloysius, Geoffrey Joseph Aloysius, Kasun Palisena, Chitta Ranjan Hulugalle, Muthuraja Surendran, Ajan Gardiya Punchihewa and Saman Kumara.
