A former Sri Lanka Test cricketer has been summoned to appear before Court today on allegations of match-fixing during the Lanka Premier League (LPL) 2020, which was held on August in Hambantota.

The former cricketer has been summoned as part of investigations into alleged attempts to fix a match in the LPL 2020. He has been accused of reaching out to players, and of failing to cooperate with ongoing investigations into the allegations.

The former Test cricketer is reported to have attempted to approach two cricketers participating in the LPL 2020 via phone calls from Dubai. The summons was issued based on a complaint filed by the Special Police Unit appointed to probe malpractices in sports in Sri Lanka.
