In response to queries from the media regarding the gifting of Pakistani mangoes to foreign dignitaries, Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said that no such incident had occurred. “We have seen Media reports that Pakistani mangoes had been dispatched last week as gift to some foreign dignitaries. We reject these reports as factually incorrect and misleading.

A section of the Indian Media has carried wrong reports,” Chaudhri said. He added that the President of Pakistan sends high-quality mangoes as a gift to selected countries annually as part of goodwill and to promote trade diplomacy efforts. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs prepares a list of countries keeping in view quarantine regulations, sanitary and phytosanitary requirements as well as availability of flights. (ST)
