Foreign Secretary discusses arrangements for ADB annual meeting
Foreign Secretary Admiral Prof. Jayanath Colombage has chaired a meeting at the Foreign Ministry to discuss arrangements for the annual meeting of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) that will be hosted by Colombo from 02 to 05 May.
An ADB delegation led by its secretary Muhammad Ehsan Khan, CEO of the ADB Annual Meeting Secretariat Dr. Don S. Jayaweera, representatives of the Professional Conference Organizers of the meeting, senior officials of the Ministries of Finance and the Foreign Affairs attended the meeting.
Sri Lanka which is a founding member of the ADB will be only the second country in the South Asian region to host the ADB annual meeting.
Over 3000 participants, including Finance Ministers and Governors of Central Banks from 68 member nations of the ADB, are expected to attend the event at the BMICH.
The Foreign Ministry will lead the overall protocol arrangements for the event and coordinate bilateral engagements for the visiting dignitaries.
The Foreign Secretary pledged fullest support of the Foreign Ministry for the successful conduct of the event.
