Five new faces in preliminary squad

Five new players were added to the Sri Lanka National Women’s preliminary squad of 27 for the ongoing residential training camp to be held from 23 July to 13 August at Rangiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium.

SLC is conducting this residential coaching programme under new head coach Hashan Tillakaratne targeting the many upcoming series. The new players are: Piyumi Wathsala (Seenigama Ladies), who is a Physical Education teacher, 18-year-olds Sachini Nisansala and Imesha Dulani, and 17-year-old Kawya Kavindi are all from Devapathiraja College Rathgama, the inter school girls cricket champions 2020, while the youngest is 16-year-old Vishmi Gunarathne from Rathnawali Balika Vidyalaya Gampaha. 

Sri Lanka women's cap Kaveesha Dilhari (also from Devapathiraja), Sachini Nisansala, Imesha Dulani, Kavya Kavindi and Piyumi Wathsala represented Seenigama Ladies Cricket Club at the last Women’s Premier Cricket season.
