First COVID-19 death reported in Mannar district

The first COVID-19 death was reported from the Mannar district yesterday (19), said Mannar Regional Health Services Director R. Vinodan.
A 61-year-old male resident of Mannar was diagnosed with the virus on 30 December and had been receiving in-house treatment till he passed away last evening.
The Mannar Corona Prevention Committee has decided to cremate the body of the deceased.
