News First batch of NNLF arrives

Sri Lanka received the first shipment of ecofriendly Nano Nitrogen Liquid Fertiliser (NNLF) required for rice cultivation, other field crops, vegetables and fruits for the Maha season from India yesterday (20). The fertiliser-carrying SriLankan Airlines landed at the Bandaranaike International Airport. 

Trade Minister Dr. Bandula Gunawardena and State Ministers Shasheendra Rajapaksa and D.V. Chanaka were present at this occasion. According to Agriculture Secretary Prof. Udith K. Jayasinghe, the NNLF supply will be delivered to farmers in the Ampara, Batticaloa, Trincomalee and also other districts where paddy cultivation has already begun. 

noting out that Nano Nitrogen liquid fertiliser is one of the highest recognised eco-friendly fertiliser in the world, Director General Agriculture Dr. S.H.S. Ajantha de Silva said that plant can obtain nitrogen nutrients they need by the application of NNLF. A total of 500,000 litres out of the 31 million litres requested by Sri Lanka will be delivered this week alone, he said.
