Local Fifteen COVID-19 cases reported in Maharagama

Fifteen COVID-19 cases have been reported in the Maharagama Municipal Council area today (26), the Maharagama Medical Officer of Health (MOH) stated.

These COVID-19 infected persons are residents of Nagahawatta, Pannipitiya, Weera Mawatha, Pathiragoda, Janatha Mawatha, Navinna, Arawwala, Ambuldeniya and Jayagath Road.

The Maharagama MOH said that the infected individuals have been identified as second level contacts of the COVID-19 patients reported from the Peliyagoda Fish Market and the Colombo Dockyard clusters.

Health authorities have taken steps to direct nearly 200 of their close contact to self-quarantine in 25 houses, and the infected have been hospitalised.

Nearly 160 people in the Maharagama Municipal Council area were subjected to PCR tests recently.
