England secure 6 wicket win thanks to another SL batting collapse
Another impressive outing for team England led by Joe Root, the visitors coasted to a 6 wicket win on day 4 of the second test against Sri Lanka.
Day 4 began with England on 339/9 in their first innings. The visitors managed to add 5 more runs to their tally before being bowled out for 344 in response to Sri Lanka's 381.
Sri Lanka had another disappointing day with the willow as they crumbled once again to the English bowling attack. The only Sri Lankan batsman to surpass the 20 run mark was newcomer Lasith Embuldeniya, a specialist bowler. Lasith scored 40 runs as Sri Lanka were bundled out for 126.
Set a target of 164 runs for victory, England lost a couple of wickets as they attempted to finish off the innings today.
However, the steady hands of Dom Sibley who scored an unbeaten 56, and Jos Buttler who scored an unbeaten 46, guided England to a comfortable 6 wicket win.
Joe Root was adjudged the man of the match as well as the man of the series.
