Eight Colombo Undergrads positive with COVID-19

Eight students at the Science Faculty of Colombo University had tested positive for COVID-19. University sources stated the eight students tested positive were six first and two second year undergraduates.
University sources further said, the students had taken part in a private reception held outside the University premises where they are said to have been exposed to the virus.
When contacted, Vice Chancellor of the Colombo University Dr. Chandrika Wijayaratne confirmed that the eight students are from its Science Faculty who had fallen victim to the disease.
She added that the students had not roamed around the University premises and affirmed that they were presently undergoing the mandatory quarantine process.
