Easter Attacks: Don’t point finger only at former President – Dayasiri
By Sawani Sheshadi
State Minister Dayasiri Jayasekara said, it is a mystery as to how the former Prime Minister and the Ministers-in-Charge of the Police Department of the previous regime had gone unscathed for their involvement with the 21 April 2019, Easter Sunday Attacks.
He said when referring to the State, it was not only the former President, but the Prime Minister and Cabinet fell into this bracket.
Jayasekara said it was questionable as to why fingers were being pointed only at the former President when officials of the previous government were accountable for their actions in failing to prevent the Easter carnage two years ago.
The State Minister added that most had now begun to delve into the actions of the former President when debating the PCol recommendations.
He said if the former President was to be prosecuted over his perceived failure to prevent the carnage, the SLFP would throw their lot with the latter.
