‘Draw health guidelines before curfew is lifted’
By Upatissa Perera
Deputy Director General (DDG) of Health Services Dr. Hemantha Herath has asked transport authorities to furnish a complete set of measures they intend to impose on commuters once the quarantine curfew is lifted next week.
The DDG stated that this list should be submitted to the health authorities for approval before the ongoing quarantine curfew is either partially or totally lifted. He warned that if public transport services do not operate according to health guidelines 24/7, it will not be possible to prevent the emergence of yet another wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.
