Doctor remanded till 2 October for shooting 17-year-old boy
A doctor who was arrested for shooting and injuring a 17-year-old boy has been remanded till 2 December.
The shooting had taken place when the injured boy, who had been playing cricket at the playground of the Dharmapala College in Arawwala with several others, entered the garden of the doctor’s house looking for the cricket ball that went lost during the cricket match.
It is reported that an argument had occurred between the boys who were playing cricket and the doctor, and that it led to the doctor shooting the boy in question with an air rifle.
The doctor, who is attached to the Maharagama Cancer Hospital, was produced at the Nugegoda Magistrate's Court today (23).
