The Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) arrested a driver of a Colombo-bound luxury bus while in possession of 18kg of Crystal Methamphetamine aka Ice in the Kosgoda area.
The luxury bus had left Galle and was inspected by the CCD officers on 15 January morning.
Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said, the 27-year-old suspect reportedly had been distributing illicit drugs by making stops at various locations along the route.
It was also found that the drug network in question is operated by a man going under the alias ‘Latty’, an associate of the drug kingpin ‘Angoda Lokka’ who recently died in India.
The DIG said, further investigations into the incident are in progress.
