Dimuth ready to front up to Windies
Sri Lanka left for the Caribbean at dawn yesterday to face the West Indies in a series comprising two T-20 games, three ODIs and two-Tests commencing next month.
Airing his views to the media before taking wing, skipper Dimuth Karunaratne said his men were well prepared to lock horns with the hosts in white ball cricket, despite going through a lean period during the past year due to the ongoing impact of COVID-19.
However, Karunaratne agreed that the tourists would be challenged on the Caribbean soil, but expressed confidence that the islanders would be ready to front up to the hosts.
The Sri Lanka captain said that they will not be underestimating the West Indies as they are known for their prowess in shorter formats of the sport.
