DGHS issues revised health guidelines
A revised set of health guidelines was issued today (15) by the Director General of Health Services, Dr. Asela Gunawardena, which will be effective from 16 to 31 October.
Accordingly, all non-essential travel will be restricted from 11.00 pm to 4.00 am daily.
As per the new guidelines, people will be permitted to leave households for work purposes, or to obtain health services/purchase essential items.
Meetings, seminars, conferences, brand launches, will be allowed with only 50 people present, while parties and any such gatherings remain prohibited.
Restaurants too, will be permitted to operate with a maximum of 50 people present, while outdoor restaurants will be allowed to accommodate 60 people.
Walking paths and beaches are open to the public.
Supermarkets, pharmacies, groceries and shops will serve only 20% of accommodation capacity at a time, while gymnasiums will be permitted to operate with 30% of the accommodation capacity.
Only 20 persons will be allowed at a time for a non-COVID-19 funeral, while weddings will be permitted with no more than 50 people present, and outdoor weddings will be permitted to accommodate a total of 75 people.
