Developing petroleum-related industries: Iranian Envoy offers assistance
Iranian Envoy to Sri Lanka, Hashem Ashjazadeh, has assured the Minister of Industries, Wimal Weerawansa, that his country is willing to supply the technical knowhow and the support to develop the industries attached to petroleum in Sri Lanka.
He said so after calling on Weerawansa at the latter’s Ministry, yesterday (14).
The Ministry of Industries, issuing a Media release, stated the Iranian Ambassador had observed that Tehran was prepared to provide technical assistance to uplift many industries in Sri Lanka.
He had noted that Iranian investors were willing to engage in this task whenever Colombo is ready to sign agreements with his Government.
Weerawansa had urged the Iranian Envoy to render assistance to Sri Lanka to boost the petroleum industry here.
