DCC discusses developing reservoirs in Ampara

The Ampara District Coordinating Committee (DCC) meeting was held on 15 September to discuss the development of the Miyangoda reservoir, the renovation of irrigation canals, constructing an alternative road from Lahugala to Panama, drafting plans to prevent coastal erosion in the Ninthavur area and releasing lands in the areas surrounding reservoirs within the Ampara urban limits.
Solving the drinking water problem at the District Hospital Alayadivembu, increasing the amount of water being supplied to the Komari District Hospital, constructing a new building for the Deegavapi Hospital and relocating some post offices from unsuitable locations, functioning amidst immense difficulties were also discussed.
It was also pointed out, only the first phase of payments pertaining to the housing loans given by the National Housing Development Authority have been made to the beneficiaries in the Ampara District so far.
