The Ceylon Teachers’ Union (CTU) warned tough trade union action on 22 July.
“Our battle hasn’t ended. The decision regarding our next trade union move will be taken at the 20 July meeting and will commence on 22 July,” CTU General Secretary, Joseph Stalin said, speaking to teacher trade unions.
Meanwhile, Stalin also said some political figures have been spreading fake news about their PCR test results.
“Some have claimed that among those who protested with us and were sent to quarantine, two individuals have contracted the Delta variant of COVID-19. They are trying to spread fear among parents,” he added.
Stalin said so yesterday (18), at a Media briefing.
